Psoriasis is a condition in which skin cells build up and form scales that tend to be itchy and with dry patches around the skin. Psoriasis Types
- Plaque psoriasis – It is the most common disease. Plaques are raised red areas covered with white buildup of dead skin cells. These are usually found or affected in the elbow, knees, scalp and lower back, but it may affect anywhere in the body.
- Pustular Psoriasis – It usually occurs due to the problem in the immune system that results in an overgrowth of skin cells. These are the blisters filled with white or yellow pus-filled. This can be found on hands and feet or all over the body.
- Inverse Psoriasis – also known as intertriginous which appears on the skin as lesions of purple-ish, brown or darker than the surrounding skin, in body folds.
- Guttate psoriasis – It is a type of psoriasis that shows up on your skin as red, small, teardrop-shaped spots. It does normally leave a scar
- Erythrodermic Psoriasis – It is an uncommon, inflammatory form of psoriasis. This includes a peeling rash across the entire surface of the body. The rash can itch, swell and pain or burn intensely, and it spreads quickly.
